2024 Bloom Fund Recipient

Bruno's Cafe in Unionville, CT, is committed to sustainability through its Green Initiative, which focuses on two key areas: transitioning to sustainable packaging and implementing a comprehensive composting program. With the support of a BLOOM grant, the café has been able to replace single-use plastics with biodegradable and compostable alternatives, aiming to significantly reduce plastic waste and minimize its impact on landfills.

In addition to sustainable packaging, Bruno's Cafe has introduced a robust composting system to further reduce waste. This initiative not only supports environmental preservation but also engages the local community and customers in eco-friendly practices. Through these efforts, and with the help of the BLOOM grant, the café is helping to foster a culture of sustainability and encouraging others to join in creating a greener future.

Bloom Fund

Counter Culture Coffee collects $0.01 from every pound of coffee sold to fund our Bloom program. Annually, $1 per pound of our spring coffee blend, Perennial, goes to further increase our contribution. Bloom provides grants to support sustainability initiatives at Counter Culture Coffee partner cafes. Rooted in the belief that everyone’s path toward sustainability looks a little different, this program supports projects of all shapes and sizes our partners identify as impactful.
